Enter a Place Name to Find Its Code

1. In the box below enter the place name (up to 40 characters) or part of the name (the search is not case sensitive). For example: LOS ANGELES

2. If the place is in a foreign country, select the country to be searched (note that U.S. possessions and U.S. administered areas are treated as country equivalents). If all countries are to be searched, select ALL. If no countries are to be searched, select N/A (not applicable). (The N/A entry is automatically selected if the U.S. state entry is other than N/A (see step 3 below).)

3. If the place is in a U.S. state, select the state to be searched. If all states are to be searched, select ALL. If no states are to be searched, select N/A. (The N/A entry is automatically selected if the country entry is other than N/A (see step 2 above).)

4. If you know the U.S. county where the place is, select the county to be searched. If all counties for the state are to be searched, select ALL. (The ALL entry is automatically selected if the state entry is ALL (see step 3 above). The N/A entry is automatically selected if the state entry is N/A.)

5. Press the Search button. (The search output is sorted in ascending order on duty station code. Note that the codes for U.S. state names are included for code translation purposes only, and are not valid for reporting to the Central Personnel Data File.)
